Crossbridge Energy Fredericia is owned by Postlane Partners, founded in January 2016 and has its headquarters in Stamford, U.S., and subdivisions in Houston, Odessa, Fort Wayne and Calgary, as well as Bordeaux in France and Fredericia and Copenhagen in Denmark. Postlane Partners runs Crossbridge Energy Partners, which works to take an active part in the green transition.

Crossbridge Energy A/S as a part of the future
From the 1st of July 2021, Crossbridge Energy A/S has acquired the refinery in Fredericia with the associated Trading & Supply activities and will bring the refinery into a green future.
Crossbridge Energy A/S will continue the development of green hydrogen, advanced biofuels and co-processing. The refinery is already under restructuring to be ready for a green future, and this development will continue.
The development concerns the reuse of surplus oil, creating a greener refining. The refinery also plans to develop its options for co-processing renewable raw materials and investigate the opportunities to produce advanced biofuels.
For instance, we are looking into utilizing waste such as used motor oil and sludge from ships to create energy and continue working with biofuels to process plant-based diesel oils.
Crossbridge Energy A/S will continue the partnership with Everfuel to establish a 300 MW electrolysis and Power-to-X plant next to the refinery, which will produce hydrogen from predominantly renewable energy in the refinery’s area.
The refinery today
The refinery in Fredericia is already the world’s third-most energy-efficient refinery and number one in Europe. Therefore, it is Denmark’s biggest supplier of surplus heat to district heating and delivers what corresponds to 23,000 households’ annual consumption of district heating. This is achieved by utilizing surplus heat from the production instead of wasting it.
Furthermore, the refinery plans to conduct pilot projects within co-processing. Therefore, it was certified in December 2020 to refine bio-oil products from scratch in the existing plant, rather than adding bio-components afterwards.
The refinery produces approx. 35 % of the Danish consumption of fuels and has a similar export via the company's port terminal in Fredericia. Crossbridge Energy A/S employs approx. 240 employees.
