Crossbridge Energy considers energy efficiency to be an absolute top priority. The refinery in Fredericia is one of the world's most energy-efficient refineries.
This is due in no small part to the fact that surplus heat from our production processes is used for district heating, making Crossbridge Energy Denmark’s biggest supplier of surplus heat to district heating. Our heat supply to district heating providers is equivalent to the annual consumption of more than 23,000 ordinary households. Our surplus heat is distributed to more than 115,000 homes throughout the Triangle Region of Denmark via a partner.
“Crossbridge Energy produces over 35% of all liquid fuels used in Denmark and has a corresponding export via our port terminal in Fredericia. The company employs about 270 people.”
Crossbridge Energy took over the existing company on 1 July 2021 with the clear ambition of making an active contribution towards the green transition. The first steps have already been taken, with more on the way.
The refinery was inaugurated in August 1966.
Only through partnerships, we can bridge the gap between today's business and tomorrow's fuels. Together with Everfuel, we are working to build the largest hydrogen plant of its kind in Europe to supply green hydrogen for the production of liquid fuels. The hydrogen plant is expected to deliver its first green hydrogen in 2024.
The project is called HySynergy and marks the beginning of a new era of partnership to develop pioneering technologies and solutions that will transform both our industry and society. The HySynergy project received the Green Power Award in 2023.
